Fall .....

Fall is a time for me to be busy physically, but my mind is already thinking of quiet mornings by the fire painting, reading, journaling, or quilting. This Fall is different due to us being so busy this Summer that we are totally behind on our end of Summer and beginning of Fall....not quite in panic mode....but wondering how in the heck are we going to get it all done before the snow flies?!?!?!? We have an half built green house. Our wood shed hasn't even been started. the fencing for our cows....yeah, not started. Gutters on the front of house...nope. Garden rototilled...nope. Flowerbeds...not been touched yet. But it is all in God's hands so what gets done is what is supposed to be done...what doesn't...there is a reason. So tonight I sit in my studio and doodle....leaving it all for tomorrow. No worries tonight.

I hope this post finds you happy and healthy and looking forward to Fall and warm drinks and fuzzy sweaters and lazy mornings by the fire. Take care my friends!

County Cork's Annual Farm Fair

Mark your calendar for 2014's Farm Fair: Saturday, August 2nd.
We like to think of the Farm Fair as a farmer's market meets country-chic craft bazaar: we open our yard to local vendors selling handmade items, antiques, art and vegetables. We always bring in a food vendor or two and we even have fun activities for kiddos.
You can expect to see beautiful jewelry, rustic signs, beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables & lawn d├ęcor as well as handcrafted handbags, cards, lotions, fashion accessories & more!
We would love for you to come spend a Saturday in the country with us: come explore our farm yard and see all the talent of the Basin! Bring the kids, a friend or two, stay for lunch and find some local treasures.

Imagination... use it today!

Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

My new website is up and going!

http://www.bgillerart.com/

Come visit! There is also a link to my facebook page.. Give me a like!

As much as I feel it is important to me to draw, doodle, sketch, paint or journal everyday, I have to say this webpage building, two projects and normal everyday life has pulled me away from that. So Monday I am back at it! Doing art everyday! I see such an improvement in my "real" art when I do my, what I call my "daily doodles". I encourage everyone to do just a little art every day.

While I have not been doing my daily doodles... I have been doing art. as mentioned above I am in the process of two big projects. One a large 2'x5' acrylic underwater painting for our guest bedroom, and one small book. I say small book and smile at myself for that understatement! It is only 8"x5". But it has 10 pages, double sided. So I have been very busy doing my layers of color style on 20 small paintings to be bound into a small book for a gift. Stay tuned in the next few weeks and I will share pictures and the process. Since it is a gift I am keeping it a secret for a while! Here is a picture of me working on one end of my guestroom painting!
Hope you enjoy. Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow and week to follow!
Peace.
